T-WIZZ

Are social media networks a force for good or evil in contemporary society?

Evil
New generations of media are coming out, if you are brought up in this generation and society that the government are ruining for the up and coming generation. By this effect happening also the fact of young adults have the upper hand on new media, this will can be used as a tool to disrupt society and run a mockery round the country, a great case study is the recent rioting in London leading to mass copycat behaviour over various parts of the country.
London Riots
From the 6th to the 10th August 2011
It took place in several districts of London, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol and several other areas.
Crimes included; rioting, mugging, looting, assault and arson.
The aftermath consisted of, 5 deaths, 16+ civilian injuries, 186 police injuries burnt down historical buildings, Small stores ruined, big franchise stores robbed of all its merchandise and in total
People who were inciting riots on Facebook have been arrested also lots of tweets but we really need to think about is what was done to stop blackberry messenger communication, that was the prime tool used to organise the riots. It is argued that it was against Blackberry’s private policy to go through messages or shut down the service considering it is a popular phone for young adults involved in gang culture but is it fair to shut down the service in the country when not all young adults who use BBM are culprits in the crime.
Many videos during the riots have gone viral:
Heroine of Hackney: Video used for positive preaching on the riots.

Sickening: A young boy after being assaulted sitting on the floor, was helped up by a gang of looters, whilst he was falsely lead to believe they were helping him a looter went through his bag whilst his back turned and stole he contents in his bag. This video went viral even the Prime Minister seen it, dubbed as ‘disgusting selfish behaviour’ whether this boy was looting the fact that we assume civilians would unit and help the hurt instead of steal.
